Es igual a la <strong>medida del radio del c\u00edrculo imaginario<\/strong>, que los esqu\u00eds trazar\u00edan en la nieve, si nos deslizamos sobre sus cantos (bordes met\u00e1licos laterales inferiores del esqu\u00ed). <strong>Se expresa en metros<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Por ejemplo si tenemos unos esqu\u00eds con un radio de giro de 17 metros y los ponemos sobre sus cantos, podremos dibujar circulos en la nieve de 17 metros de radio. En pistas con nieve blanda al no poder clavar los cantos no podemos hablar de carving.<\/p>\n<p>Al esquiar sobre los cantos, se experimenta una <strong>sensaci\u00f3n de corte<\/strong> preciso en la nieve, que nos encarrila como si fuesemos sobre ra\u00edles.<\/p>\n<p>La geometr\u00eda de los esqu\u00eds, combinada con una posici\u00f3n correcta del esquiador, <strong>permite trazar curvas que son pr\u00f3ximas a un arco de circunferencia de medida = al \u00abradio de giro de nuestro esqui\u00bb.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Selecci\u00f3n del radio de giro adecuado<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La elecci\u00f3n del radio de giro adecuado <strong>depende del tipo de esqu\u00ed que se practique<\/strong>, el nivel de habilidad y el terreno en el que se esqu\u00ede.
